Overview

In 2016, the Centre launched the Melbourne Children’s Knowledge Translation and Research Impact initiative, designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness by which research evidence underpins policy and practice change.

This project developed and implemented a framework to better support the translation of knowledge into practice and policy, and enhance the impact of research undertaken at Melbourne Children’s (a collaboration between The Royal Children’s Hospital, the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, the University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics and The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation).

The framework

A review of the literature and consultations with campus staff and knowledge translation experts led to the development of a framework for knowledge translation and research impact.
