GenV – representing your community

04/04/2024

GenV (short for Generation Victoria) is Australia’s largest child and parent cohort study. Led from the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, this landmark study aims to find better prediction, prevention and treatment of the complex health and social problems facing all families today and tomorrow.

With over 118,000 participants, GenV proudly reflects Australia’s cultural, social and geographic diversity.

GenV continues to invite and welcome Victorian families – regardless of who you are, where you live, or what language you speak. GenV aims to represent the full diversity of Victorians, with 47,000 families recognising the importance of having their voices heard in research.

While research often has a narrow representation of participants, GenV is intent on representing all communities. Families with twins or multiple births, living with disabilities, from migrant and refugee backgrounds, from First Nations communities, across the LGBTIQ+ spectrum and living with a diversity of experiences are part of the GenV community.

For those that work in health and community services, GenV is open to families you see every day.

All families with a child born between 4 October 2021 – 3 October 2023 can join. Sharing information and voicing your support, helps GenV reach the families you see and the communities you help. Joining is simple and participation remains low-burden for families.

The door’s always open – interested parents can contact us via our website (www.genv.org.au/contact), phone (1800 GEN VVV or 1800 436 888) or email ([email protected]).
