Facilitating small groups with confidence

02/04/2024

A two-day course to build your knowledge and skills in designing, planning and facilitating small groups that reflects adult learning principles and honours the knowledge and expertise that participants bring to the small group.

Many practitioners in human service settings find themselves facilitating small groups with limited formal training in how to do so effectively. In this two-day course, develop your skills and learn the art to successfully facilitating small groups.

Small groups are used in many learning settings including formal education, therapeutic, parenting support, and other help giving contexts. Small groups can be convened for one-off activities, or they can form the basis for a series of sequential sessions.

Building on our longstanding experience of facilitating small group courses across Australia with diverse groups (parents, community members and professionals), the Centre for Community Child Health has developed a very popular two-day course for people who want to take their facilitation skills to another level. This course has been delivered in a variety of settings.

Participants have been extremely pleased with what they were able to take away from the course:

The Small Group Facilitation course focuses on helping participants learn tools and techniques to confidently facilitate small groups in ways that reflect authentic partnership between participants and facilitators.
